How to register a domain name
- Log in to your Managed Web client portal.
- Go to Domains and choose Register a New Domain.
- Search for the name you want. If it's available, click Add to Cart. If not, try a different extension or a variation of the name.
- Choose a registration period. Longer periods protect against accidentally letting the domain lapse.
- Review the configuration. If you are adding hosting at the same time, the domain will be linked to it automatically.
- Complete checkout.
You'll receive a confirmation email once registration has completed, normally within a few minutes.
Tips for choosing a name
- Keep it short, easy to spell and easy to say out loud
- Avoid hyphens and numbers where possible
- Consider registering the main variations (.co.uk and .com, for example) to protect your brand
- Check that you aren't using someone else's trademark
