How to check PHP settings with phpinfo

A phpinfo page shows the PHP version and settings your site is actually using.

  1. In cPanel File Manager, open public_html (or the folder for the domain you're checking).
  2. Click + File, name it something hard to guess such as info-82731.php, and create it.
  3. Edit the file and add:
<?php phpinfo();
  1. Save it and visit https://yourdomain.co.uk/info-82731.php.

The page lists the PHP version, loaded extensions and settings such as memory_limit and upload_max_filesize.

Delete the file when you've finished. It shows details about your server that could help an attacker.
