How to change PHP version in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel and open MultiPHP Manager in the Software section.
- Tick the domain(s) you want to change.
- Choose the PHP version from the drop-down menu on the right and click Apply.
The change takes effect immediately and only for the domains you ticked.
Before you change
- Take a backup, or at least know how to change back.
- Check your website software supports the new version. For WordPress, update WordPress, themes and plugins first.
- Use a currently supported PHP version; older versions no longer receive security fixes.
If your site shows errors after the change, switch back to the previous version and contact the developer of the software or plugin causing the issue.
