How to set up email forwarders in cPanel

How to set up email forwarders in cPanel

A forwarder sends a copy of mail arriving at one address to another address.

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Forwarders in the Email section.
  2. Click Add Forwarder.
  3. Enter the address to forward (the part before the @) and pick the domain.
  4. Choose Forward to Email Address and enter where it should go. This can be any address, on your domain or elsewhere.
  5. Click Add Forwarder.

Forwarding a whole domain

Use Add Domain Forwarder to send all mail for one domain to the same addresses at another domain.

Things to know

  • The address doesn't need to be a real mailbox; a forwarder on its own works fine.
  • Forwarding to Gmail, Outlook.com or similar can sometimes be treated as spam by the receiving provider, especially when the original mail was spam. Where possible, add the mailbox to the recipient's app instead of forwarding.
  • To remove a forwarder, click Delete beside it on the Forwarders page.
