How to change your hosting account password

How to change your hosting account password

Your Managed Web account has two separate passwords:

  • Client portal password – for billing, services, domains and support tickets
  • cPanel password – for your hosting control panel, FTP (main account) and SSH

Change your client portal password

  1. Log in to the client portal.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner and choose Change Password.
  3. Enter your current password and the new one twice, then save.

Change your cPanel password

  1. Log in to the client portal and go to Services › My Services.
  2. Select your hosting package.
  3. In the Actions menu, click Change Password.
  4. Enter a new password (or generate a strong one) and save.

You can also change it inside cPanel under Preferences › Password & Security.

Choosing a strong password

Use at least 12 characters with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols, and don't reuse a password from another service. A password manager makes this easy.
