How to transfer your domain to Managed Web
Transferring a domain moves its registration to us, so you can manage renewals alongside your hosting. Your website and email aren't interrupted by the transfer itself, provided the nameservers stay the same.
Before you start
- The domain must be at least 60 days old and not transferred in the last 60 days (for most generic domains such as .com).
- Make sure the domain isn't close to expiry and that the registrant email address is one you can access.
Transferring a .uk domain (.uk, .co.uk, .org.uk etc.)
.uk domains don't use transfer codes. Instead:
- Place the transfer order in your client portal under Domains › Transfer Domains.
- Ask your current registrar to change the domain's IPS tag to ENOM. Many registrars let you do this yourself in their control panel.
- Once the tag has been changed, the domain appears in your account, usually within a few hours.
Transferring a .com, .net and other generic domains
- At your current registrar, unlock the domain and request the EPP / authorisation code.
- In your client portal, go to Domains › Transfer Domains, enter the domain and the code.
- Complete checkout. Transfers normally include a one-year extension to the registration.
- Approve the transfer if your current registrar emails you to confirm.
Generic domain transfers usually complete within 5–7 days.
