How to troubleshoot website access issues
If your site works for other people but not for you, the most likely cause is that the server firewall has blocked your IP address. This usually happens after several failed login attempts to email, FTP, cPanel or WordPress, often from a device with an old saved password.
Confirm it's a block
- Try the site on mobile data. If it works there but not on your Wi-Fi, your network's IP is probably blocked.
- Run a trace to the server:
- Windows:
tracert yourdomain.co.uk - macOS/Linux:
traceroute yourdomain.co.uk or mtr yourdomain.co.uk
If the trace stops just before reaching our server, a block is likely.
Get it lifted
Raise a ticket (using mobile data or another network if needed) including your public IP address from whatismyip.com. We'll remove the block.
Prevent it happening again
Update saved passwords on every device and email app after you change a password.
